Best All Around Tooth Brush

My #1 toothbrush recommendation is Sonicare for Kids!

When recommending toothbrushes for children my #1 criteria is that the child likes it. The best toothbrush on the market will do nothing if it is not used. Favorite cartoon characters or colors usually do the trick! After a certain age however, the charm will disappear and the most important trait a toothbrush must have is that it is the most efficient and least traumatic

Here are few reasons why:

1. Best Plaque Remover – When I use Sonicare for Kids I notice a significant improvement in plaque removal compared to manual toothbrushes and even spinbrushes.

2. Gentle – Sonicare uses a gentle sweeping motion to remove plaque from the gum line, and has a soft touch to manage sensitive gums.

3. Fun for kids – Sonicare has a very fun app that turns toothbrushing into a game and shows your child how well they’re brushing (and for how long!)

4. Accessible – You don’t have to break the bank to get a Sonicare and they sell them everywhere. I have the kids’ replacement heads in my Subscribe and Save on Amazon.

5. Longlasting – You will have your Sonicare for years!

It is important to note that children should not be brushing their own teeth until they have the manual dexterity to tie their own shoes. The recommended age for Sonicare for Kids is 7, but (in my opinion) this is flexible if proper supervision is available.

Happy Halloween! Here are some tips to win at eating candy!

As parents we struggle to find a balance between allowing our children to have fun and “be a kid” while still keeping them safe and healthy.

For this reason, Halloween could get hard to navigate. Although this time of year is about spooky decorations and fun costumes, for children getting bags full of candy is the ultimate end game.

Here are some guidelines to follow this Halloween to help you keep your children cavity free while still enjoying their favorite sugary treats.

Tip #1: Once you get home have your child choose their favorites and put the rest in a bag to donate. At Dentini we will buy your Halloween candy back from you for a dollar per pound!

Tip #2: In order to avoid limitless exposure to sugar decide on a time each day for your child to enjoy their Halloween candy. The best time is shortly after a meal, when saliva production is at it’s highest.

Tip #3: Make sure your child is drinking water, especially in between meals.

Tip #4: Maintain a healthy diet. Encourage your child to eat their vegetables and other “growing foods” before they indulge. This will help fill their bellies with important nutrients while leaving less space for the sugary treats.

Tip #5: Keep those dentinies clean by brushing twice a day and flossing.

We hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!
